Solas 170420 Propeller Accessories
The Solas SB-RB 170420 is a precision-engineered rubber hub designed specifically for Suzuki outboard engines. This essential propeller component provides critical shock absorption and protection for your propeller and lower unit, acting as a sacrificial cushion between the propeller and the propeller shaft to absorb impact forces from underwater obstacles, sudden shifts, or propeller strikes.
Manufactured from high-quality rubber compound, this hub is designed to spin freely on the propeller shaft when subjected to sudden impact or overload conditions, protecting expensive gears, shafts, and internal components from catastrophic damage. This “fuse” function can save you thousands of dollars in lower unit repairs by sacrificing the inexpensive hub instead of allowing impact forces to transfer to critical drive components.
The rubber hub also dampens vibration and provides smooth power transfer during normal operation, contributing to quieter running and reduced stress on drive components. Over time and use, rubber hubs can deteriorate, become damaged from impacts, or develop a “spun hub” condition where they slip excessively during acceleration. Regular inspection and replacement of worn or damaged hubs is essential for maintaining proper propeller performance and protecting your lower unit.
Compatible with Suzuki outboard engines, this rubber hub is an essential component for maintaining optimal propeller performance and protecting your investment in quality marine propulsion hardware. Whether you’re replacing a spun hub, performing routine propeller maintenance, or rebuilding a propeller, this genuine Solas rubber hub provides the quality, proper fit, and reliable protection your propulsion system needs.
